David von Rosen was interviewed by AGBI about the UAE’s gambling rules, which he said he believed were loosening.
He explained in the interview that he feels confident that Lottoland, his company, which allows customers to bet on the results of the biggest global lotteries, will be able to reach customers within the UAE in the future.
“We know the market really well and we want to bring our capability to innovate and the larger jackpots which we offer, to Dubai, but only in a regulated way.”

David also spoke about the potential he sees for Dubai to become the next global hub for entrepreneurs, competing with the likes of Silicon Valley. He discussed the perks of Dubai, which is, in his opinion, the best place in the world to start and grow a business, particularly in the tech sector. He argued that the Emirate has the vital ingredients of motivated talent, a business-first tax and regulation system, and free-flowing capital.
David predicted that it would only be a matter of time before Dubai generated more unicorns than Silicon Valley or London.
